Join the Childress Fire Department and Childress Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 11 for a day of remembrance. There will be moments of silence at 8:46, 9:02, 9:37, and 10:03 AM.
The Childress Firefighters will climb 1908 stairs at Charlie Johnston Field at the Fair Park stadium at 7:30 PM in remembrance of the steps the firefighters took on 0-11.
The community is encouraged to come out, walk the track in support of what was one of the most horrible days in our history.
Donations for the Fire Department will be accepted at the event.
