The Texas Department of Transportation in Childress reports this morning, Thursday, Jan. 2, that travel is highly discouraged across a large portion of north, west and central Texas. If your travel plans include one of these areas, delay travel if possible.

In the Childress District, crews worked the overnight hours monitoring roadways. Bridges, overpasses and intersections have been treated. Crews will continue monitoring roadways until this round of winter weather leaves the area.
