Benefit luncheon set for Bryan Shuler & family

Altus (OK) man diagnosed with rare bone cancer

A benefit luncheon for Bryan Shuler and family of Altus, OK will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 10 AM to 3 PM at 1100 N. Park Lane (Salvation Army back south entrance) in Altus.

Bryan is 32 years old and has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 synovial sarcoma cancer, a rare type of bone cancer.

The lunch will include two homemade chicken enchiladas  made with homemade flour tortillas, cream cheese, green chilies, topped with salsa verde and shredded fiesta blend cheese, and served with Spanish rice, refried beans and small salad. Cost is $12 per plate and payment is cash only.

All orders must be placed no later than Monday, Oct. 11 at 11 AM. When ordering, include your name, phone number, whether it is a pick up or delivery, the time you are picking it up or would like it delivered, and the number of plates being ordered.

Bryan’s wife Tellie is a nurse in our community and they have four children. Tellie will be taking time off from work to help take care of Bryan, and to travel with him during his treatment visits at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, TX. Bryan will unfortunately not be able to work.

All proceeds will go to Bryan, Tellie and their children to aid in his treatments, travel expenses, monthly bills, groceries and loss of income.
