ALTUS (OK) – Express Clydesdales will be featured in this year’s Altus Christmas Parade set to start off from Western Oklahoma State College at 6 PM tomorrow night, Dec. 11, and will travel south on Main Street to the downtown Altus square. The Clydesdales are big, powerful, refined draft horses named after and imported from Clydesdale, Scotland.  These gentle giants typically stand 18 to 19 hands high and weigh nearly a ton. They’re beautiful, graceful, and extremely even tempered. Folks will be given the opportunity to take photos with the Clydesdales during the Candy Cane Cash drawings will be Saturday evening at 8 PM at the Jackson County Courthouse Square under the holiday lights of Main Street Altus. Events will kick off following the parade with Christmas carolers, hot chocolate, Santa Claus and more. Drawing amounts will be three $500 drawings, two $5,000 and the final $1,000 on Monday.  Santa will also be in the gazebo at the Altus City Park to take Christmas wishes from children and for photo opportunities.
