ALTUS, OK – The Altus City Reservoir is now closed to all vehicular traffic as the City of Altus begins construction work on the Reservoir Project.

Access to the Thunder Court and adjacent playground will be open from the west entrance through Bunker Hill Shopping Center. Access to the dog park and RV clean-out station will be open from the south entrance adjacent to the Community Center.

Heavy construction will begin in Hoyt Shadid Park beyond the Thunder Court and the area will be closed to all visitors.

Signage will be posted as further closures to pedestrians go into effect.Heavy earth moving equipment and dangerous machinery will be operating throughout the are with significant risk to pedestrians in the area.

Updates will be available on the City of Altus Facebook page, on the City website, and at the reservoir entries as construction work escalates.
