The Altus Police Department was made aware of a possible attempted child abduction that occurred recently within the city limits of Altus.
A 12-year-old female was walking home from school when the suspect vehicle slowly drove past the juvenile. As the juvenile female approached an alleyway, the suspect vehicle emerged from the alleyway & drove up next to the child. The Hispanic male suspect offered the juvenile female a ride home & she refused. The suspect again offered to the child a ride home and she told him she was almost to her residence and her family was outside waiting (pointing to her family nearby). The suspect then left the area, driving south on North Crain and then turning east onto West Bradford Street.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with facial hair and glasses. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white pickup truck with a faded reddish/orange strip on the hood.
