The Childress varsity football team lost Friday’s home non-conference game against Holliday by a score of 28-14.
With 6 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, Holliday intercepted a Childress pass and had the ball on their own 25-yard line. Holliday 0, Childress 6. Holliday made a 2nd down, with 5 minutes to go, ball on Childress’ 41-yard line.
With 3 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, Holliday completed a pass for a touchdown, taking the score to Holliday 6, Childress 6. The Holliday PAT was good, taking the score to Holliday 7, Childress 6.
Childress then intercepted a Holliday pass and had the ball on their own 35-yard line. Childress then punted to Holliday. Holliday had the ball on their own 33-yard line. At the end of the 1st quarter, the score remained Holliday 7, Childress 6.
At the end of the 2nd quarter, the score remained the same.
With 9 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, Holliday completed a pass for a touchdown taking the score to Holliday 13, Childress 6. The PAT was good for the extra point.
With 9 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, Childress ran a rushing touchdown taking Childress to 12. A two point pass was completed tying the game 14 to 14.
Holliday made a kick return for a touchdown taking them back int he lead 20-14. The PAT was good, and with 8 minutes to go, Holliday was leading 21 to 14. Holliday then made a passing touchdown taking them to a 27 to 14 lead. They made the point after. The score was then 28 to 14.
As the 4th quarter began, the score remained Holliday 28, Childress 14.
Holliday made a 1st down with six minutes to, the ball was on Childress’ 31-yard liine.
Holliday turned over possession on a missed field goal, and Childress had the ball on their own 28-yard line with just 3 minutes left in the game.
The final score was Holliday 28, Childress 14.
Next week the Childress Bobcats play away at Bowie in a non-district game. Kick-off will be at 7 PM.
