Jackson County Health Department is hosting a Wellness Symposium on October 26 and 27. Gail Box will be one of the keynote speakers. Her special presentation will be held on Oct. 26 at the Altus Community Center, 401 Falcon Road, at 7 PM. Box shares her story about her son, Austin Box, who died from an accidental prescription overdose. The Austin Box “12” Foundation was started in Austin’s honor with the mission of educating the public on the dangers prescription drug abuse. Other keynote speakers include Tom Farley, brother of comedian Chris Farley, who will speak about mental health, overcoming adversity and addiction.
