Bobcats top Lynx 41-7 in home conference game

The Childress Bobcats varsity football team won Friday’s home conference game against the Spearman Lynx by a score of 41-7.

By the end of the first quarter, the game was tied 7-7. Spearman punted to Childress to start the second quarter. Childress had the ball on Spearman’s 13-yard line. Childress then made a rushing touchdown with 8 minutes to go in the quarter, taking the score to Spearman 7, Childress 13. The extra point was missed, keeping the score 7-13. The Bobcats then made another rushing touchdown, and made the extra point, taking the score to 7-20. With 6 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, Childress kicked off to Spearman. Spearman had the ball on Childress’ 35-yard line. Spearman punted to Childress, and Childress had the ball on Spearman’s 37-yard line. The Bobcats then completed a pass for a touchdown, and with the extra point, the score was Spearman 7, Childress 27. The score remained the same at half time.

Spearman kicked off to Childress at the start of the 3rd quarter, and Childress made a rushing touchdown, and with the extra point good, the score was Spearman 7, Childress 34. With 3 minutes to go in the quarter, Childress intercepted a Spearman pass and had the ball on their own 20-yard line. The Bobcats then made a rushing touchdown, made the extra point, and the score was Spearman 7, Childress 41, the ending score for the game.

Childress will travel to Dimmitt next Friday, Oct. 28 for a conference game. Kickoff will be at 7 PM.
