The Childress Bobcats varsity football team won Friday’s home playoff game against Coahoma by a score of 46-20.

This game is a part of the “2022 UIL Texas Football State Championships – 2022 Football Conference 3A D2 “ tournament.

The score tied 13 – 13 with 4 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter when Childress made a 21-yard rushing touch down. The Bobcats made the extra point taking the score to Coahoma 13, Childress 20. The score remained 13-20 at half time. Childress then made a Pick 6! Coahoma 13, Childress’ conversion failed and the score was now Coahoma 13, Childress 26.

With 9 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, Coahoma completed a pass for a touch down taking the score to Coahoma 19, Childress 26, and with the extra point, Coahoma was now 20, Childress 26. Childress turned possession over on downs. Coahoma had the ball . Childress intercepted a Coahoma pass, then made a 27-yard rushing touch down, and the Bobcats added to their score Coahoma 20, Childress 33.

With 4 minutes to go in the game, Coahoma turned possession over on downs. Childress had the ball, then made a rushing touch down, but missed the extra point. The score was now Coahoma 20, Childress 39.

With just a minute to go in the game, the Bobcats made another touch down, and with extra point good, the score was Coahoma 20, Childress 46, the final score.

The Childress Bobcats will take on the Wall Hawks in the area round Friday, Nov. 18 at Buckaroo Stadium in Breckenridge. Kickoff is at 7 PM.

Tickets will be sold online on the website below for all athletic contests hosted b Breckenridge ISD. They will sell limited tickets at the gate for an elevated price of $7. Children under 5 will not need a ticket. District, senior citizen, coaches, media passes will be accepted.
