The filing period for the upcoming 2023 Altus Municipal Elections begins Monday, Dec. 5 and ends on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Jackson County Election Office, located in the old Washington School Building at 311 E. Cypress.

Positions on the ballot will be Mayor, Chief of Police, Street Commissioner, and Council Members for Wards 1, 2, 3 & 4.

Candidates are asked to pick up a Campaign Packet from the Altus City Clerk/Treasurer’s Office located on the second floor of the Altus Municipal Complex at 509 S. Main Street.

Elections will be held Feb. 14, 2023, and if required, a run-off election will be held April 4, 2023.

Each office serves a 4-year term and will be elected “at large” meaning that all Altus residents registered to vote may vote for each position.
