The regular monthly meeting of the Altus School Board will meet today, Monday, Nov. 14 at the administration center, 219 N. Lee, starting at 5 PM.
Under Superintendent’s reports and comments is the announcement of School Board Election filing dates, the Altus Junior High All Region Vocal Music, and an update on Altus Junior High School. All-Star Olympics and MAPS funds will be discussed under the Consent Agenda, and personnel items on the agenda include retirements and resignations, reassignments, proposed substitutes, volunteers and extra duty assignments.
In executive session, the Board will discuss proposed new hires, and after returning to regular session, consider taking action on new hires.
Other agenda items include approving the 2023-24 school calendar, approving the memorandum of understanding between Altus Public Schools and Beacon Behavioral Health, Inc. for the 2022-23 school year, and a contract with Hunter Cybulski for Speech-Language Therapy.
The Board is also set to approve a $1,500 stipend to school site contracts for assistance with the homeless liaison to be paid with federal grant money, and approve a list of surplus items for the next surplus sale.
Comments from the Altus Air Force Base Ex Officio member of the Altus Board of Education will be heard before adjourning.
