Arrest made after high-speed chase

Altus Police arrested a man Sunday afternoon after he led officers on a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit ended when the suspect lost control of the of his vehicle at the entrance to Quartz Mountain State Park. Police had originally attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 900 block of North Hudson, for the driver of an outstanding Caddo County arrest warrant. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Ethan Steiner. Steiner refused to stop and led police on a pursuit, with speeds reaching 125 mph. Steiner wrecked his vehicle after striking a traffic sign at the entrance to the State Park. Steiner was transported by police to Jackson County Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and later released. A passenger in the vehicle, a 21-year-old female, was transported by ambulance, treated for a leg injury and later released from JCMH. Steiner is being held at the Jackson County Jail on the Caddo County Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Attempting to Elude Police.
