AWANA program starts Aug. 24 at Martha Road Baptist Church

Awana Directors Greg and Michelle Gilstad have announced that the Awana Program at Martha (OK) Road Baptist Church will start back on August 24 for the 2022-23 school year.

During a typical Awana night the children and youth are involved in Bible study, Scripture memory and recreation activities during the hour and a half program. When the clubbers recite Scripture verses and complete their handbooks they are awarded special patches and pins they can wear on their Awana uniforms.

Awana is a non-denominational organization that partners in ministry with the local church.  The Awana name stands for “Approved Workman are Not Ashamed”, which comes from the Bible verse found in 2 Timothy 2:15.  There are approximately 12,000 churches with Awana clubs in the U.S. as well as 13,000 international Awana programs.

Awana takes place on Wednesdays from 5:55 – 7:30 PM throughout the school year.  For more information please contact the church at 482-3377 or the church website at www.martharoad.org. Martha Road Baptist Church is located four miles north of Wal-Mart on Highway 283
