Bradley wins over Gillem for Childress County Sheriff

CITY OF CHILDRESS AMENDMENT ELECTION & OTHER COUNTY RESULTS GIVEN

The race for Childress County Sheriff was won by Matthew Bradley in Tuesday’s General Election. Bradley recieved 1,000 votes to Danny Gillem’s 307 votes.

After Childress County Sheriff Michael (Mike) Pigg announced his retirement in January, the Childress County Commissioners met in a Special Meeting and voted unanimously to appoint Danny Gillem, Chief Deputy at the Childress County Sheriff Office, to serve as Childress County Sheriff effective Feb. 1. Pigg had been the Childress County Sheriff since 2005. Gillem completed Pigg’s elected term as Sheriff, but was defeated in Tuesday’s election by Bradley.
