On February 13 the Collingsworth County Commissioners extended their Burn Ban for 90 days. The ban prohibits or restricts outdoor burning. The ban does not prohibit outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety that are authorized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality such as firefighter training, publicv utility operations, harvesting of agricultrural crops, and burns that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager. Exceptions to the burn ban are outside cooking if it is on a covered grill made for that purpose and is on a non flammable surface, if winds are less than 15 mph, water is available at the grill in case of fire, and if the grill is extinquished when done.
