The Childress Fire Department is hosting a Junior Fire Fighter Program Oct. 3, 2022 through May 5, 2023.

This program will promote the fire service as well as teach young people the basic skills of firefighting and provide a mentorship to pursue a career in the fire service. Their goal is to instill good values and respect in young people.

After completion of the program students will have the opportunity to become volunteer firefighters with the Childress Fire Department.

Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and enrolled in school. This program is limited to 10 available spots.

Applications must be turned in to the Childress Fire Department no later than Sept. 19. Interviews will be scheduled and selection of applicants will be done on Sept. 26.
