City of Altus proclaims November as Veterans & Military Families Month; Join JCMH in wearing red on Fridays

November has been officially proclaimed Veterans and Military Families Month! Jackson County Memorial Hospital’s Radiology has been wearing RED to honor military members and families for months now- will you join us?

The origins of RED Fridays is unclear. One theory is that it got started in an email chain in 2005. Another is that two Canadian servicemen’s wives started the movement and the movement grew from there. No matter the origins, there are still a great number of people that love to pay respect to all of our service men and women protecting our freedoms and way of life today.

People across the country wear red on Fridays to Remember Everyone Deployed and spread the message of how important it is to keep our troops in our thoughts. Veterans sacrifice to serve and protect our nation. There isn’t enough we can do in return to say thank you.

The simple act of wearing RED on Fridays is an easy way to show our military personnel they are not forgotten and how thankful we are for their service. It is an honor to Remember Everyone Deployed as a department in Radiology and we hope to spread the word and have many others join as well.

The City of Altus has declared November as Veterans & Military Families month as a way to honor and thank our veterans and their families. We hope you will take a moment to thank a veteran any day of the year! Wear RED on Fridays with us!
