According to the National Weather Service, a cold air mass is approaching the area with the probability of high temperatures below 28 from Wednesday through Saturday. You can see the highest probabilities (and most likely coldest days) below for Thursday and Friday. Highs below 20 across the area is expected on Thursday as well. There is also a chance for light snow or flurries, but the very cold temperatures are expected to be the main impact with this front. This is anticipated to be a significant cold outbreak and without some level of preparation to protect sensitive people, pets (livestock) and infrastructure, significant impacts could occur.
TRAVEL ALERT: Peak wind gusts are expected to be between 55 and 65 mph on Thursday afternoon due to an arctic front entering the area sometime Thursday morning.
