Domestic incident leads to deadly shooting in Hollis

The District 3 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is leading an investigation into a deadly shooting that happened in Hollis this past weekend. District Attorney David Thomas said that incident is believed to have stemmed from a domestic situation which ended with two men dying and a third critically injured.

Thomas said that Christopher Welch, 43, went to the home of James Brown, 53, where his girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend, Bradley Schmidt, 37, was. Welch shot Schmidt four times and Brown once. Schmidt was killed and Brown was taken to the OU Health Center where he was listed in serious condition. The woman was unharmed.

Thomas reported that after the incident, Welch went back to his home were he killed himself.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Hollis Police Department assisted in the investigation.
