Altus Intermediate School received extensive electrical damage after the electrical fire Monday and the majority of the building is without electricity.  The fire was caused by a delivery vehicle hitting a transformer outside of Altus Intermediate School.  

Due to the amount of time needed to receive supplies to repair the damage, Altus Intermediate School will be closed for the remainder of this week and students will be placed on Distance Learning. Students were sent home with work from their classroom teachers. 

Altus Public Schools will continue to provide daily updates until the electricity is restored and students are back in school.
