First Day Hike planned at Copper Breaks State Park

First Day Hikes are planned at state parks across Texas. This nation-wide program encourages hiking on New Year’s Day, so start a new tradition and welcome in the new year with a morning hike at beautiful Copper Breaks State Park. The Juniper Ridge is one of the best hikes at the park, with great views and colorful rock formations. This 0.7 Mile hike is not flat, and will take about 45 minutes to an hour. Meet at Juniper Ridge Trailhead and wear good close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle and warm clothes. This program is free with paid park entrance fees or a Texas State park Pass. The hike will start at 8:30 AM on Sunday,Jan. 1. For more information, contact Stewart Lefevre at (940) 839-4331.
