The Jackson County (OK) Sheriff’s Office through the South Western Oklahoma Development Authority is able to offer SafeRx Medication lock boxes and Deterra Drug Deactivation systems to Jackson County residents at no cost.

The medication lock box has a combination type lock to keep children and unwanted persons out of prescription medication.

The drug deactivation system is for use with unwanted or expired medication. You simply place medication in the sealable bag, add water and shake the bag. The contents of the bag when mixed with water will deactivate the medication.

Come by the Sheriff Department located at 600 S. Main St in Altus if you would like to pick up one of these items.
