Home invasion attempt leaves one dead in Hollis

A Hollis homeowner fatally shot a man who was reportedly attempting to break into their home through a window, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The shooting was reported the morning of Sunday, September 19 and Hollis police requested OSBI agents’ help in the investigation. 

Police said 50-year-old Buddy Kevin Driver attempted to break into a home in the 900 block of West Broadway in Hollis. The homeowner shot Driver several times from inside the house as Driver tried to enter the residence through a window.

9-1-1 dispatched EMS to the scene at 7:48 a.m. and when paramedics arrived, Driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The OSBI said the investigation remains open and ongoing.
