How Jackson County (OK) voted in Tuesday’s 2022 Oklahoma Primary Runoff elections

The 2022 Oklahoma primary runoff elections were held yesterday, Aug. 23, with U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin winning the GOP primary runoff for one of Oklahoma’s U.S. Senate seats. The seat is to replace early-retiring US Sen. Jim Inhofe who has been in office for nearly 30 years.
Mullin defeated former Speaker of the Oklahoma House T.W. Shannon after the two advanced from a 13-candidate Republican primary field in June.
Representative Markwayne Mullin and Luke Holland, Senator James M. Inhofe’s chief of staff, are among the Republicans competing to replace Mr. Inhofe, who will retire in January. The winner of the special general election in November will hold the seat until January 2027, the end of Mr. Inhofe’s current term.
In Jackson County, Mullins took 64.22% of the votes.
U.S. Sen. James Lankford won Tuesday’s GOP primary in his race for reelection to another six-year term in the U.S. Senate.
Lankford defeated Jackson Lahmeyer and Joan Farr, and will be a heavy favorite to defeat the Democratic primary winner in November’s general election.
In Jackson County results, the Town of Blair voted on a proposition that passed 66 to 10 votes for 86.84% of the votes.
For State Treasurer, Jackson County voters voted 59.07% for Todd Russ, for Superintendent of Instruction April Grace received 55.16% of the votes, for Labor Commissioner Leslie Kathryn Osborn received 59.86% of the votes, Kim David received 65.87% of the votes for Corporation Commissioner, and Madison Horn received 61.41% of the votes the Democratic State Senator’s seat.
