Mac Mollison and Judy & Gwynn Womack scholarship winners announced

Mac Mollison Scholarship and Judy & Gwynn Womack Memorial Scholarships were recently awarded to medical student applicants accepted into an accredited M.D. or D.O. program, to Registered Nurses enrolled in a Master or Doctorate program, and to students enrolled in an accredited doctor of Dentistry program. Students must be residents of Southwest Oklahoma and be accepted and enrolled in the program.

Nurse Practitioner student Kimberly Russell, Medical Student Hunter Hall, and medical student Tanner Cole all received Mac Mollison Scholarship Funds. The fund assists medical students and graduate nursing students from Southwest Oklahoma. The scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of long-time Altus physician Dr. Malcolm “Mac” Mollison and is supported by private donations.

Chad Jordan, a 2nd year medical student at the University of Oklahoma, and Physician Assistant student Kennedy Kerr, received the Judy and Gwynn Womack Memorial Scholarship. The Judy and Gwynn Womack Memorial Scholarship accepts applications from students from Southwest Oklahoma who are enrolled in Medical School, Dental School, Physician Assistant, and Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner programs. The Womack’s son, Dr. James “Thumper” Womack, established the scholarship in 2012 to assist area students who want to return to the Southwest Oklahoma community to practice medicine.
