Memphis/Hall County 5k fun run raises money for school cross country teams

Medalists for the Memphis/Hall County 5k Fun Run Fundraiser.

The 6th annual Memphis/Hall County 5k fun run fundraiser was hosted on September 18. Thirty-four runners (and a few four-legged friends) competed in the race including the youngest competitor ever, 4 month old Maverick Middleton Garcia. The fun run has been hosted the last 6 years to help raise money for the Memphis ISD cross country teams. This year’s teams have competed weekly since the last week in August and have runners medaling in the varsity girls, varsity boys and junior high boys divisions. Memphis cross country will compete in their district meet on Tuesday, October 12 at Shamrock, with the goal to advanced to the regional and state meets.
