The Board of Trustees of Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority met in regular session on Monday, December 19. The board approved minutes from the November 28, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting, and Shelley Simmons reported from the clinics. A total of 193 admissions and 322 outpatient procedures and observations were contributed to the hospital in the month of November.
The board approved the revised Sentinel Events Policy as presented, as well as the revised Organizational Plan for Patient Care and
Services as presented. Simmons also presented the Life Share Reports to the board for the third quarter of 2022, before presenting the Quality Dashboard Report to the board for the third quarter of 2022.
Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation for JCMH were approved in the amount of $120,482.84.
The board then approved the revised Contract Management Policy as presented, as well as the CARES ACT Amendment and approved the amendment as New Business as it was unforeseen before posting the agenda that a motion would be necessary.
The board approved credentials for initial appointment and reappointment as presented by Dr. John Tran, Chief-of-Staff. Also approved were revisions to the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Service Chair and Committee Appointments for 2023-2024.
Mr. Hartgraves announced this is Dr. Tran’s last meeting as the Chief-of-Staff and acknowledged him for doing an outstanding job. Dr. Gregory Pickett will begin as the Chief-of-Staff January 1, 2023.
Kay Stewart reported on Harmon Memorial Hospital, and Barbara Brooks reported on the JCMH financials for the month of November
which resulted in a net loss of $878,456.
Brooks reported the HMH financials for the month of November which resulted in a net loss of $278,847.

Mrs. Shelley Simmons reported JCMH is being denied reimbursement for certain COVID-19, flu and RSV tests. The allowable tests are currently unavailable.
The DNV accreditation survey went well.
Mr. Casey Miranda reported the Urology clinic remodel is nearing completion. Move-in date may be early January.
Oklahoma hospitals participating in the state’s SHOPP program may receive a one-time payment based on current allocations before the end of the year.
OHCA has postponed the implementation of Oklahoma’s Medicaid managed care program until April 2024.
CMS has released its proposal to increase oversight of Medicare Advantage plans and better align them with Traditional Medicare for
contract year 2024.
Three of the five 2023 Organizational Goals are being met or exceeded.
