Quanah Schools may have to close due to City’s water tower repairs

The City of Quanah will be making repairs to the water tower on Thursday. The City has made arrangements to leave the water turned on during the repairs.

Quanah ISD does not anticipate having problems at any of the QISD facilities during this time, however, should a problem arise that affects their water supply for a time period, QISD may have to close for the day. Every effort has been made to keep the water supply to the schools on and to keep school in session.

Superintendent Tom Johnson said that they will notify parents by the notification system if the need should arise for QISD to have an early release.

Please feel free to contact the campus principals if you have any questions or need further information.

Citizens of Quanah’s water tower has a crack in the main service line. The line is sixteen inches in diameter and will require all water pressure off of it to be fixed. This process will start today, Sept. 21 at 8 AM and could last until Friday afternoon. Once the water is out of the tower they will close it off from our water system. Quanah will be operating off of Greenbelt water line pressure. Residents may see a drop in water pressure. But we assure you we are working as fast as we can to restore our water system.
