Rain showers continue to move across Oklahoma some wetting amounts logged in parts of central and eastern Oklahoma while
much of the west registered 0.10” or less. According to the Oklahoma Department of Forestry, as this system moves out of Oklahoma later today, warm and breezy conditions will shift in rapidly drying fuels in western Oklahoma prompting an brief period of fire danger concern this afternoon. Emphasis will be in southwestern Oklahoma where very light rain last night will have little effect as critical fire weather develops midday persisting into the early evening hours.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect today from Noon through 6 PM for five southwestern counties. They are Jackson, Greer, Harmon, Tillman and Cotton Counties. Following a frontal passage tonight, fire danger will be of less concern through the remainder of the week.
