Members and prospective members of the Jackson County (OK) Retired Educators Association will start meeting together for the school year 2022-2023 by attending the “Coffee Cup” Review on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson.
The program will start with the review of a book entitled “Oklahoma’s Most Notorious Cases: Part II” that will be given at 10 AM that morning by the author Kent Frates. He will highlight some of the cases and stories in our state.
A short business meeting for the retired educators will follow the book review program.
The new SW Representative Pamela Holland from Roosevelt plans to attend. The meeting will also provide time to pay the OREA dues of $42, if the dues are not deducted from a retiree’s monthly benefits.
Before mid-October, dues will be collected or potential members can contact Membership Chair Ida Fay Winters at 580-482-8934 or 302-0667 to discuss their enrollment options.
This professional organization invites retired teachers for pre-K to 12th grade schools or higher education institutions, employees of career and technology centers, administrators, other public education entities, and any school support personnel to become members.
