Southbound U.S. Highway 287 traffic to be diverted in Hall County

CHILDRESS – Contract crews will divert US 287 southbound traffic south of Memphis onto the existing northbound lanes on Tuesday, October 26. This is part of a $13.4 million re-alignment project under direction of the Childress District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Traffic in that area will be reduced to one-lane in each direction. Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone. This includes reducing your speed, obeying all posted warnings and reducing all distractions in your vehicle. Traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present and can cost up to $2,000.
