Southwest Rural Electric’s charitable foundation, Operation Round Up, recently granted $57,258 to local organizations in need, all thanks to donations from generous co-op members. Organizations benefitting included: The Altus Lions Club, Altus Salvation Army, The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council and the Frederick Public Schools Band, Great Plains Literacy Council, the Jackson County EMS District, Operation C.A.R.E. Ministries of Jackson County, Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group Head Start and Group Safe Haven, the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, Tipton Public Schools first and second grade, Vernon Meals on Wheels and Salvation Army, the Warren Senior Citizens Center, the Wilbarger County Child Welfare Board, and the Wilbarger Humane Society.
