The Eighty Eights Show: Dueling Pianos playing in Paducah October 2

The city of Paducah and the Cottle County Livestock Buyers Association are excited to welcome The Eight Eights Show: Dueling Pianos to the Paducah VFW on Saturday, October 2. Delisa Piper, one of the event’s organizers, says this will be a great show for anyone to attend and see creative, talented pianists perform a crowd-interactive show.

Both Delisa and her daughter Tess McCown have seen the Eight Eights show before, and when Tess saw them perform at a fundraiser last year, she knew they would be great for their benefit night. When they reached out to the traveling piano players, Piper and McCown were informed that October 2 (the night they wanted them to perform) was the only weekend the Eighty Eights had available. Piper says that it was meant to be that the dates lined up like that. Piper also went on to say that the man who runs the show’s wife is originally from Vernon, so they love to do events that support small towns. October 2 is the Saturday of homecoming week for Paducah and Piper is hoping to see lots of familiar faces.

The Eighty Eights Show: Dueling Pianos is based out of Dallas that includes two entertainers on two pianos performing songs from the classic 1950s to today’s hits. However, dueling piano shows are all about audience participation; attendees should expect singing, dancing and unscripted and interactive banter from the performers. No two shows are ever the same. They will also take requests during the performance.

This event is being put on to raise money for a meal for the buyers at the annual Cottle County stock show. McCown says that they haven’t provided a meal for the buyers in a few years and wanted to start this up again to encourage buyers to come back and for new ones to attend. Having more buyers at the stock shows means more support for the show and for the kids that put their time and effort into their animals.

Tickets are $25 at the door and a $10 cooler charge will be in effect. The option to reserve tables will also be available with groups of 8 for $300 or $225 for 6. There is no cooler charge for reserved tables. Reservations can be made by calling Tess McCown at 806-269-0931, Kendra Brady at 806-346-1364 or Mandy Moore at 817-673-7724. Doors open for the show at 7:30 p.m. and it will last from 8-10:30 p.m. The event is 17 and older unless accompanied by an adult and food trucks will be on site at the VFW.
