UPDATE: DETOUR IS NO LONGER IN PLACE. US 287 NORTHBOUND FROM CHILDRESS TO MEMPHIS HAS REOPENED AS OF 9:30 A.M.

The Texas Department of Transportation Childress District announced this morning that US 287 NORTHBOUND from Childress to Memphis has been closed.

Northbound US 287 traffic is being detoured to US 83 North to SH 256 west to Memphis. No ETA has been given for reopening.

Southbound US 287 is open.
