The Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Vernon Main Street are starting up the 2021 Shop Local, Shop Vernon Campaign entitled Candyland Christmas. They would love for chamber members from throughout the community to be involved.
The Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Vernon Main Street Program will promote shopping local with special ads and a Candyland Christmas game. Shoppers will be able to pick up a game card from participating businesses or the Chamber office between November 27 and December 11. Shoppers will earn stickers with qualifying purchases from participating businesses during this time frame and place the stickers on their game cards. Once their cards are full, they will write their name and phone number on their card and return it to a participating business or the Chamber office. There is no limit on entries. Participating businesses will submit game cards shoppers turn in by close of business on Friday, December 10 if the business is closed on weekends or Saturday, December 11. The Vernon Chamber of Commerce will do prize drawing during the Christmas on the Western Trail Lighted Christmas Parade on the City of Vernon’s Facebook page during their live feed of the parade. Contact Kathy Craighead at 940-552-2564 or chamber@vernoncoc.org to list your business as a participating business and notify her of what the business will donate as a prize for the drawings by November 23.
In addition to the shop local campaign game, a Candyland Christmas Decorating Contest will be held. One trophy will be awarded to a Main Street District business and one trophy to a Chamber Member business outside of the Main Street District for the best Candyland themed display. In order to enter the contest, please contact Kathy Craighead at 940-552-2564 or chamber@vernoncoc.org no later than November 26. The display for the contest will need to be ready by November 26 as well. The Vernon Chamber of Commerce will come by, take a picture and post it on the Candyland Christmas Shop Local Facebook Event. Citizens will vote on their favorite on Facebook or in the Chamber office and the winners will be announced during the Christmas on the Western Trail Parade on December 11. You do not have to participate in the Decorating Contest to be eligible to participate in the Shop Local Campaign described above.
In order to wrap-up the special holiday campaign, any business involved in the promotion that would like to offer a candy bar, hot cocoa, cider or any other festive treat or promotion on December 11 can notify the Chamber office and they will promote whatever it is you would like to host that day.
