Ward named Superintendent at Vernon ISD

The Board of Trustees has named Dr. Kermit Ward, Superintendent at Clarksville ISD, as the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent at Vernon ISD at a special called board meeting Nov. 10. With 27 years in education working a total of 17 in district leadership roles from Middle School Principal to High Scho0ol Principal to Superintendent of Schools, the Board felt his work experience was diverse as it includes experience in large and small, urban and rural school settings.

While he served as Superintendent of Clarksville ISD, he made changes to drive efficiency, provide much needed professional development, and raise the accountability rating. The Board is excited to support his commitment and dedication to serve students and to provide rich and rigorous education while providing a safe school environment. The Board plans to hire Dr. ward following the 21-day mandatory waiting period.
