‘Wear Blue Day’ set for Jan. 11 during Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and the perfect time for everyone to raise awareness amongst friends and family. There are estimated to be more than 24.9 million people — adults and children — subjected to human trafficking around the world, including in the United States.

Traffickers often take advantage of the instability caused by natural disasters, conflict, or a pandemic to exploit others. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, traffickers continue to commit crimes, finding ways to innovate and capitalize on the chaos.

January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day; and is recognized each year. Please plan to participate in #WearBlueDay by wearing BLUE.

The National Human Trafficking Hotline is (888) 373-7888, SMS: 233733 (Text “HELP” or “INFO”) or visit http://humantraffickinghotline.org
