Childress
The Lady Cats started the week with a win in four sets on August 17 at Sanford Fritch (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15). Adah Henderson led the team with 22 kills, 3 blocks and 2 aces. Corbin Daniel added in 11 kills and 2 blocks of her own. Nayeli Miller finished with 10 kills and Lily Stephens had 2 blocks. In the backcourt, Stephens added 24 assists to her stats and Jena Preston brought in 17 assists. Kenzlee Carroll finished with 13 digs and 2 aces and Aspen Lomax had 11 digs.
The Lady Cats played in the Littlefield Tournament over the weekend but were knocked out of the gold bracket. Their next game is Tuesday, August 24 at Wichita Falls Hirschi at 5:00 p.m.
Quanah
The Lady Indians had a clean sweep on the road, winning in three sets at both Forestburg (25-12, 25-14, 25-20) and Fort Elliott (25-14, 25-8, 25-12). They play again on Tuesday, August 24 at home against Wichita Falls Christian at 5:00 p.m.
Chillicothe
The Lady Eagles started the week with a loss on August 17 against Prairie Valley (11-25, 9-25, 14-25) but turned it around on Saturday to beat Memphis in four sets at home (25-12, 18-25, 25-21, 27-25). After trailing by more than six points in both the third and fourth sets, the Lady Eagles were able to rally together and close out both sets on top and eventually win the match. Number 15 Katy Huse was named player of the game.
Chillicothe will start the next week on the road at Electra on Tuesday, August 24 at 5:00 p.m.
Paducah
The Lady Dragons had a big week on the road, winning Tuesday at Fort Elliott in five sets and again on Saturday at Harrold in four sets (25-11, 15-25, 25-14, 25-8). Their road trip continue as they take on Aspermont Tuesday, August 24 at 6:00 p.m.
Memphis
The Lady Cyclones started the week with a strong win on Tuesday in three sets at Crowell. On Saturday, they faced off against the Chillicothe Lady Eagles, who were looking to bounce back and they did just that. Memphis fell in four sets after the Lady Eagles came back in the third and fourth sets to close the match (12-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-27).
The Lady Cyclones return home Tuesday, August 24 to play Benjamin, starting with the junior high team at 4:00 p.m.
Vernon
The Lady Lions played in the Lu Allen Tournament in Graham over the weekend, facing off against tough competition. Vernon dropped their first four games of the tournament, losing to Holliday (7-25, 13-25), Caprock (23-25, 17-25), Abilene (lost 2 sets to 0) and Mineral Wells (lost 2 sets to 1). They finished the tournament on a high note, taking down Wichita Falls Hirschi in straight sets (25-19, 25-21).
Riding on that winning momentum, the Lady Lions will play Tuesday, August 24 at Henrietta at 4:30 p.m.
Crowell
The Ladycats suffered two loses this past week, first to Memphis in three sets on Tuesday and then to Onley in four on Saturday. The Ladycats took the first set against Onley 25-16, but couldn’t keep the lead for the last three , losing 16-25, 21-25, 15-25 respectively. Crowell will have the opportunity to get a big win at home on Tuesday, August 24 against Harrold at 5:00 p.m.
