Week 7 high school volleyball scores

Childress

The Lady Cats traveled to Iowa Park on Tuesday, September 21, facing a tough team and losing in 3 sets (20-25, 18-25, 23-25). The varsity team had the weekend off but the JV team hosted Wichita Falls and River Road for dual matches. Both teams will be back in action Tuesday, September 28 as they play Holliday at home at 5:00 p.m.

Quanah

The Lady Indians traveled to Benjamin on Tuesday, September 21 where they were met with tough competition, losing in straight sets (16-25, 18-25, 19-25). The loss was short lived as Quanah came out strong against Chillicothe on Saturday, taking the match in 3 sets (25-11, 25-15, 25-15). The Lady Indians will be on the road for their next game on Tuesday, September 28 at Munday at 4:00 p.m.

Vernon

The Lady Lions picked up a big win against Lubbock Monterey on Tuesday, September 21, winning 3 sets to 2 in a fifth set that went down to the wire (8-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 15-13). It was a full team effort as Carli White contributed 18 kills, Kenadi Brown 14 and Valerie Tyra had 3. Tyra was also dominant on the net tallying 7 total blocks with Brown and White each picking up a block of their own. In the backcourt, White led the way with 21 digs, followed by Bryanna McRae’s 14 and Brown’s 5. McRae picked up 3 aces from the service line and Tyra had 2.

Vernon started district play on Friday night at home against Burkburnett but eventually fell in 3 sets (21-25, 18-25, 22-25). White continued to lead the way for the team with 9 kills and 20 digs. The Lady Lions continue district play at home Tuesday, September 28 vs Mineral Wells at 4:30 p.m.

Memphis

The Lady Cyclones opened district play Tuesday, September 21 against West Texas High, falling in 3 well played sets (19-25, 18-25, 21-25). Their hard fought match on Tuesday helped propel them into the win column, winning on the road against Vega (25-9, 26-24, 25-17). Memphis will have a few days off before looking to keep their winning streak as they play Olton at home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2.

Paducah

The Lady Dragons started the week with an impressive win on the road against Munday, winning in 5 thrilling sets. Going off that momentum, Paducah faced a loaded Northside team on Saturday, taking the first set before losing the next 3 (26-24, 12-25, 7-25, 8-25). The Lady Dragons look to jump back into the win column on Tuesday, September 28 at Knox City at 5:00 p.m.

Chillicothe

The Lady Eagles picked up a big win at home against Crowell early last week, sweeping the Lady Cats in 3 sets (25-16, 25-7, 25-23). Chillicothe then faced Quanah on the road on Saturday, but they were met by a determined Lady Indian team and fell in 3 sets (11-25, 15-25, 15-25). The Lady Eagles are back in action at home on Tuesday, September 28 vs Benjamin at 5:00 p.m.

Crowell

The Lady Cats were on the road against Chillicothe on Tuesday and were swept in 3 sets as the Lady Eagles defended their home court (16-25, 7-25, 23-25). Crowell then played Munday on Saturday, falling in 3 sets after a back and forth third set (17-25, 6-25, 23-25). The Cats will be on the road to start this week as they face Northside on Tuesday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m.

Vernon Northside

The Lady Indians had another dominant week, sweeping Knox City on the road on Tuesday (25-13, 25-16, 25-14). Northside then traveled to Paducah on Saturday, where they were met with a challenge in the first set before taking control of the next 3 and closing out the match (24-26, 25-12, 25-7, 25-8). Northside will be at home to start this week, facing Crowell on Tuesday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m.

Altus

The Lady Bulldogs faced off against Erick again, this time at home, but the result was the same with Erick getting the upperhand 3 sets to 1. Altus then hosted their tournament on Saturday, losing two matches to Corn Bible Academy (0-2) and El Reno (1-2). The Lady Bulldogs will be back on the road as they face Clinton on Monday, September 27 at 4:00 p.m.
