WINTERY WEATHER WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY

According to the North Texas Weather Center, ice accumulations will be possible for many North Texans Wednesday into Thursday morning. Travel impacts will occur, but not nearly as significant as the ice storm a couple of weeks ago.The big “IF” that still remains is the temperatures. Many of us will be on the line of 31-33 degrees on Wednesday when the precipitation occurs. This means even a single degree could make a huge difference to whether you see ice, cold rain, or a mix of both. The dividing line as of now seems to be the DFW metroplex between wintery mix and a cold rain.

Northwestern North Texas could see significant ice accumulations. That could lead to power outages and very dangerous travel. In Southeastern North Texas, mostly a cold rain is expected with maybe a couple of iced-over overpasses and bridges.
