2023 Alumni Association Hall of Fame Inductee Rep. Gerrid Kendrix

The Western Oklahoma State College Alumni Association is proud to announce that Gerrid
Kendrix has been selected as the 2023 Alumni Association Hall of Fame Inductee.
This award is presented to former students of Altus Junior College / Western Oklahoma State
College who, through leadership, character, and hard work, have made an exceptional
contribution in their field, their community and at WOSC. The Hall of Fame Committee of the
WOSC Alumni Association selects the Hall of Fame Awards.
Gerrid Kendrix graduated from Altus High School in 1985 and attended Western Oklahoma
State College before attending Oklahoma State University and then transferring to Cameron
University where, in 1991, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. In 1994, he
acquired his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and has served the Altus community in
that capacity for more than 30 years.
In 2020, Kendrix was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. During his tenure, he
received the State Chamber of Oklahoma’s Rising Star Award, was selected to serve on the
Governor’s Council for Workforce and Economic Development and was appointed to the House
Special Investigative Committee.
Kendrix married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia, and they have three children and six
grandchildren. He is active in his church, serving as a deacon. He has assisted on the church
finance committee, mentored teens and facilitated Bible study groups. Kendrix is a WOSC
Alumni Lifetime Member and a faithful supporter of Western Oklahoma State College..
Rep. Kendrix will be honored at the 2023 Alumni Association Hall of Fame banquet to be held
on Saturday, April 29, 2023. More information on this event will be released at a later date.
