Shaffner, Sharp win Alderman seats in Childress

SWEARING IN CEREMONY TO BE HELD THURSDAY

The City of Childress held an at large general election for four Alderman seats on Saturday, May 6. There were 162 voters.

For Alderman 1, Gary Clark received 122 votes.

For Alderman 2, CT Taylor received 121 votes.

For Alderman 3, Ronnie Shaffner received 90 votes to John Preston’s 71 votes.

For Alderman 4, Mauro Hernandez received 69 votes to Billy Sharp’s 89 votes.

A called session meeting of the Childress City Council will be held on Thursday, May 11 starting at 6 PM in the Council chambers at City Hall, 315 Commerce Street. The meeting is being held to canvass and for certification of the May 6 election and to swear in the elected officials.

Quanah Council at large: Ryan Watson 55, Ashley O’Neil 45, Ashley Savage 40.
